About

Welcome! I started this blog in 2012 when I graduated from college and volunteered abroad for a few months, with the best intentions to blog all about it. That didn’t happen. But when I came back and settled into full-time employment, I found myself craving a creative outlet - and have been popping in here sporadically ever since.

In the time I've been writing here, I worked for five years in Washington, DC on democracy and governance programs in the Middle East and North Africa, traveling to Tunisia, Mauritania, and southern Turkey. In 2017, I moved to Boston-well-actually-just-across-the-river-no-not-Tufts to pursue a master's degree in public policy. These days, I live in Monrovia, Liberia, where I work in international development research.

For a couple years, I came here all the time to share my craft endeavors. (I made miniature art every day in 2015 and had a brief but passionate affair with art journaling). These days, I show up in this space when I feel like writing something and know an imagined virtual audience (however big or small) will hold me to a higher standard than my diary.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

(PS: Header title inspiration way back here.)
